About Ashmore Building
Ashmore Building was founded by William and Sam after years of working in the construction industry and feeling that something was missing. We’d both seen too many projects where speed mattered far more than care, communication was poor, and the finished result fell short of what homeowners had been promised. As tradesmen ourselves, that never sat right with us.
We first met in 2014 while working on a traditional oak-framed barn conversion in Devon. From the beginning, we shared the same mindset – take pride in the work, be honest with people, and build homes you’d be happy to put your own name to. That approach still shapes everything we do at Ashmore Buildings today.

One thing clients often tell us is that they appreciate being able to have normal conversations with us. We know building projects can feel overwhelming if you’re not familiar with the process, so we try to keep things clear, realistic, and easy to understand from day one. Whether you already have drawings prepared or are still exploring ideas, we’re happy to talk things through honestly and help point you in the right direction.
We also put a lot of time into pricing. We’d rather give an accurate figure upfront than a low estimate that leads to awkward conversations and rising costs later on.
